6 ANP workers among 10 injured in Quetta firing

At least 10 people including six Awami National Party (ANP) workers were injured on Saturday when some unidentified gunmen opened fire at ANP activists who were observing strike against bomb explosion at the party’s rally on Friday.

According to police, strike was being observed in Quetta against the bomb blast at the ANP rally that killed six persons on Friday. In the same backdrop, the ANP workers were passing through the Double Road when unknown gunmen opened fire at them.
As a result of firing, 10 persons including party workers were injured who were shifted to Civil Hospital.
Later, other ANP workers reached the hospital and chanted slogans against police and administration while they also manhandled police and FC personnel.
The ANP had announced to observe a shutter down strike on Saturday and three days mourning in Balochistan over the bomb explosion near the venue of a rally arranged by the ANP in Kuchlak Bazaar.
An FIR has been registered over the complaint of Additional SHO New Kuchlak Mohammad Javed under the charges of terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and possession of explosives, however, no arrest has been made so far.
Shutter down strike were observed in Quetta, Kuchlak, Zhob, Qilay Abdullah, Pishin and other parts of the province on the call of Awami National Party (ANP).
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Jamhoori Watan Party, National Party and various traders bodies have backed the ANP call against the deadly incident.
