99 women qualify for Guddi Baji project

MULTAN - At least 99 women from far-flung areas and villages of Ahmadpur East and Uch Sharif have qualified Beautician and Tailoring courses under Guddi Baji project jointly launched by Idara Taleem-o-Agahi, TEVTA and a private organisation.

The project is launched to uplift the financial condition of women living in rural areas of Bahawalpur and 7,000 women shall be made skilled till 2015. The graduation ceremony to distribute certificates among 99 women, who completed their courses, took place in Jinnah Hall in Ahmadpur East. MNA Baleeghur Rehman, Coordinator Health for Chief Minister Adnan Farid and manager of a private organization Salman Baloch distributed certificates among the women. 
Talking to the journalists on the occasion, district manager of Idara Taleem-o-Agahi Arshia Khurshid told that the project would not only empower rural women but also give them opportunity to avail health and education facilities. She added that the programme would leave long lasting impacts on rural families and become a message of prosperity for the undeveloped areas. She disclosed that the number of women getting training under the programme would rise to 950 next year.
