Conspiracies against SC will not succeed, says Nawaz





ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leadership has decided to stand firm behind the judiciary and would play its due role in foiling the attempts of maligning the superior courts and making the judges controversial.
Sources in the party aware of the deliberations of the high-level meeting held here at the Punjab House under the chair of party President Nawaz Sharif, discussed the overall political situation in the country with specific reference to the conspiracy aimed at subduing the superior judiciary and its fallout on the whole system.
The sources further informed that the party leadership discussed various aspects of the conspiracy and its possible moves in coming days and it was decided with voice vote that the PML-N would stand behind the judiciary and would not let the non-state actors damage the independence of judiciary or make the judges of the superior court controversial.
Addressing the meeting, Nawaz said that they were aware about the motives behind the conspiracy against judiciary and vowed not to let these people succeed in their nefarious designs.
Praising the decision of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry to summon his own son in the court and said that the political parties, civil society, intelligentsia, media and public at large were standing behind the judiciary and would not let vested interest succeed in their nefarious designs.
Nawaz, according to the sources, said that by mudslinging on superior judiciary those who were preempting the apex court action against them would be grossly mistaken as all those who had done wrong should have to pay for their sins and such tactics were bound to fail.
The sources further said that Nawaz said that on one hand the rulers were out to hush up the corruption cases involving billions of rupees against them and their scions while on the other hand after getting air of his son’s involvement in the corruption scandal the Chief Justice had not only taken suo motu notice of the issue but also brought his son to the court to explain his position.
“Such high value examples should not only be admired but supported by all so that the society could come out of the shadows of corruption,” Nawaz was quoted as saying to the select group of senior party leaders.
The sources further said that PML-N was part of the marvelous struggle launched by the masses with representation from all segments of society and made it loud and clear that they would not let a bunch of looters and plunderers of the national wealth to deprive the people of Pakistan from the benevolence of independent judiciary.
Conspicuous among those who attended the meeting included Raja Zafarul Haq, Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Ishaq Dar, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan Abbassi, Sardar Mumtaz Bhutto, Kh. Mohammad Asif, Saleem Zia, Mamnoon Hussain, Abdul Qadir Baloch and Pervaiz Rasheed.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by PML-N media cell Nawaz said that Pakistani nation was well aware of the conspiracies and hidden motives behind the recent onslaught against the superior judiciary and vowed not to let the nefarious designs of these conspirators succeed.
