PESHAWAR - Four persons were killed when an unmanned US predator targeted a vehicle in Miranshah area of North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday.
Sources said the American drone targeted a vehicle carrying four suspected persons in Malak Azhar village of North Waziristan. The drone fired two missiles on the vehicle, which resulted in killing of four persons on the spot. Soon after the incident, local tribesmen rushed to the site and retrieved the bodies from the destroyed vehicle. Authorities in North Waziristan Agency confirmed that four persons were killed in the drone attack, however those who were injured could not be identified whether they were militants or local people.
It is to be mentioned here that there has been a dramatic increase in US drone strikes in Pakistan since a NATO summit in Chicago ended last month without a deal to end a six-month blockade on NATO supplies crossing into Afghanistan from Pakistan.
A drone attack killed 15 militants in North Waziristan on June 4. It was not immediately known if there were any high-value targets killed in the latest strike, which again took place in North Waziristan.
The vehicle was hit in Isha village, about 10 kilometres east of Miranshah.
