BAHAWALPUR - The death of famous singer Mehdi Hassan was widely condoled in the city and the sad news almost stunned the fans and music-lovers.

The Radio Pakistan, Bahawalpur aired special programmes in its regular transmission to pay homage to the legend singer of the country here on Wednesday.
In such programmes, PBC Director Tariq Shah, Syed Naeem Shah, Producers, artistes, compares and paid rich tributes to Mehdi Hassan.
The PBC Producers included Aashiq Abbasi, Imran Javed, Syed Shahood Rizvi, Shafique Moughal, Sajjad Beri, Affifa Habib, Shabana Ali and Rizwana Badar besides compares, SM Saleem, Saeed Ahmed, Rehan Bin Javed, Taffazal Hussain, Riaz Bhutta, Wajeeha Irfan, Najma Hanif and Mussarat Yasmeen expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the world known singer, Mehdi Hassan and said that his songs would remain alive in the memory of the fans and such artistes born rarely.
They all prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed soul in eternal peace
