First dengue patient reported

VEHARI - A woman has been diagnosed as having dengue fever here on Thursday.Fiaz Mai, a resident of Noor Shah was suffering from fever for the last few days. However, she was admitted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where she was diagnosed with the dengue virus.  It is to be noted that this is the first dengue patient reported in district Vehari. The local civil society organisations have demanded head-on measures to eliminate dengue in the district. When contacted DHQ Hospital MS Dr Muhammad Ashraf dispelled the claimed that Fiaz Mai was infected by dengue, saying that she was a Malaria. The MS claimed that it was her husband Ahmad Sher declared is wife as to have been suffering from dengue fever.10,000 cops to be recruits: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Farooq Mazhar has said that the Punjab government approved 10,000 posts of constables across the Punjab and the IG Punjab has asked all the DPOs to fill these posts on merit. He said that after the new recruitment the police would be able to control crime in a better way. He said that Pakpattan Police Lines was near completion and the police would be shifted there with in a few months. He also said that due to keen interest of Pakpattan DPO Jehanzaib yNazeer Khan, the district police office had been up-graded and computrised. He said that digital control room would be established within a few days.
