SARGODHA - Because of alleged negligence of the Food Department or the police, a truck loaded with official wheat has gone missing from a police station.

Earlier, District Food Controller Qazi Muhammad Ishaq along with Assistant Food Controller Muhammad and Food Inspector Hafiz Muhammad Munir had conducted a raid in the grain market and seized 230 bags of official wheat. The wheat was then handed over to Rehman Flour Mills by the food officials.
Later, it was found that the wheat bags were being illegally unloaded at a private grain shop. The food officers launched an FIR against the perpetrators and handed over the truck (6751/SGD) to the city police. After that it was revealed that the truck loaded with wheat has been stolen and no one took responsibility of it.
However, the food officials have held the police responsible for the theft.
