A man was killed when a powerful explosion took place in a scrap heaped on Ring Road area of Jamil Chowk here in Peshawar on Friday.

The deceased body was shifted to hospital. Police and rescue teams reached the spot to help in rescue operation. Police said it was not the handiwork of terrorists but something in the scrap exploded.
