Army, govt using Malala attack for NWA op: Fazl

SUKKUR  – JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the government and Army were trying to use Malala attack for launching an operation in North Waziristan.Addressing the JUI-F’s Islam Zindabad Conference here on Sunday, he said that some people were playing politics on the Malala issue and trying to suppress the religious parties. “Those who are asking religious parties to condemn Malala attack should first denounce attacks on seminaries,” he said, adding that Malala was our daughter and attack on her was a condemnable act.Indicating towards MQM chief order to collect information of seminaries, the JUI-F chief said that no one has the right to collect information of mosques and seminaries. Fazl said it seemed that Pakistan was made for abductions, killings and extortion. “Our law enforcement authorities are not able to arrest the abductors.” He said the international exploitative forces are hatching conspiracies against Islam, and claimed his party alone is resisting them. Commenting on country’s political scenario, he said politicians are busy levelling corruption allegations against each other but the practice would not help the country’s dilapidated economy to recover. He said “We had rendered sacrifices for a welfare state 65 years ago, but even today the poor have been living in the clutches of waderas and landlords.” He said they would not accept tyranny-based system of the international powers. He said the economic condition of the country could not be improved through accountability bills. The elements, who have ruled the country over the decades, didn’t let the people become a nation, the Maulana said, adding the poor have been given nothing but slogans. Commenting on international scenario, the JUI leader said the government lacks ability to strengthen its ties with Afghanistan and Iran and even today religious sector is being targeted. He said the sitting government and its departments have failed, as they cannot even tell about the victims being kidnapped. He said it is time to guarantee the Baloch people that their future is secure within Pakistan. He said if the people of the country wanted their children’s future safe, they would have to bring a change in country’s leadership. He said that the people are being exploited in the name of provincialism and sectarianism. Maulana further said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and his party would encounter anti-Islam forces. He said that during the MMA government, they promoted education and distributed free textbooks among the students of the public sector schools. He also termed the religious schools as fortresses of Islam and vowed to foil conspiracies against them.
