Strike in Quetta against killing of 10 labourers

QUETTA - On the call of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) a complete shutter-down strike was observed in Quetta on Friday to condemn the murder of 10 labourers in Dasht area of Mastung district the other day.
A previously unknown Baloch militant group, United Baloch Army had claimed responsibility for the killings.
The strike call was supported by all political and religious parties, including that of Awami National Party to condemn the killings.
All shopping and business centers, markets and shops located on Jinnah Road, Shara-e-Iqbal, Liaquat Bazaar, Abdul Sattar Road, Double Road, Sariab Road, Joint Road and Brewery Road remained shut throughout the day.
The streets of the cities presented a deserted look while traffic plying on the roads was also thin as compared to normal days.
Administration had taken strict security measures to avert any untoward incident as police backed by Frontier Corps and other law-enforcement agencies were deployed in different areas.
However, no untoward incident occurred.
