Raisani withdraws minister’s portfolio

QUETTA – Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has withdrawn the portfolio from PPP minister for food Asfandyar Kakar for violating party discipline.

According to an official handout issued here on Wednesday, Kakar had nominated an independent candidate for upcoming Senate elections without prior permission of the party.
He was summoned by party leadership in Islamabad for explanation but he did not do so and disconnected his telephonic contacts. Keeping in view the violation of party discipline, the CM not only withdrew the portfolio but has also decided to send a reference to Election Commission against him.
