Woman thrown into canal saved miraculously

HAFIZABAD - A young woman who was thrown into the Jhang Branch canal by her husband escaped miraculously on Sunday.

Twenty two-year-old Naveeda Bibi, a resident of Sheikhupura was married of to her cousin 17-year-old Aurangzed, a student of Matric, in Bhai Pheru two years back but due to strained relations with her in-laws, the couple settled in the house of sister of Naveeda at Hafizabad, few days ago. But here again the couple often quarrelled. According to Naveeda her husband Aurangzeb on Sunday took her to the canal on some pretext, where he pushed her into the canal. Luckily, she was entangled in a bush and she cried for help.
A police party of Saddr Police Station rushed to the spot and brought her out and removed her to the DHQ Hospital Hafizabad.
The police have registered a case against Aurangzeb, who is still at large.
