Family demands place in Guinness Book of World Records

BAHAWALNAGAR - A family of Khadimabad Colony has claimed that they are the country’s largest family comprising 90 members with their five generations alive and residing in a single house.

Haji Umar Din, 100, the head and eldest family member, said that his famialy members were living jointly in the materialistic age and spending a happy life. He further said that they migrated from village Roda of Indian district Hissar in 1947 and got settled there.
Umar’s 75-year-old son Qurban has seven sons and three daughters. Qurban’s elder son Saleem who is 50 years old has eight sons and five daughters.
However, Saleem’s elder son Kamran, 25, has two sons and a daughter. Umar is the eldest and Ayesa, 2, is the youngest member of the family. Saleem and Umar’s grandson claimed that their family was the largest in the country, adding that they hold no grudge against one another and leading a happy life. The family wants to be registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.
