ISLAMABAD - Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd (SNGPL) has prepared a new gas load management plan for winter under which CNG stations in Punjab will be barred from selling gas for four days a week from 15 November. There will be shortage for domestic consumers too.
According to sources, there will be a shortage of one billion cubic feet of gas during winter and to meet this shortfall, and it will affect all sectors. The SNGPL will present the new gas load management plan to the Petroleum Ministry next week for approval. In addition to the CNG, there is also proposal to increase gas loadshedding for fertilizing and other industries. Provision of gas to domestic consumers is government’s stated priority but there could be a shortage of gas for domestic consumers as well in the winter.
