ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission has decided to obtain Pakistan Army’s assistance for the national voters day to be held on Oct 17th. According to media reports, a meeting of the ECP held under the Chairmanship of the Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Afzal Khan reviewed the preparations for the national voters day.He said a national voters day would be held in order to increase public awareness on the elections and the ECP had requested the Pakistan Army’s assistance for the purpose.Moreover, he requested the civil society, political parties and the media to play their respective roles in increasing public awareness on the importance of voting.He said that the ECP was aiming to have an 80 per cent voters turnout for the upcoming general elections.
