LAHORE – A day-long precipitation in various parts of the country on Monday has been hailed as the farewell to the summer and commencement of the winter as considerable decrease recorded in the temperature.
The weather in Lahore took a pleasant turn after receiving 19 millimeters of rain that drag down the temperature to 19 Celsius in the city on Monday.
Families flocked to the parks on Monday evening to bask in the rainy and windy weather.
Meanwhile, the rainwater submerged many roads of Lahore, including The Mall, Jail Road, Davis Road, Canal Bank Road, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Allama Iqbal Town and Circular Road.  It caused trouble for commuters and several incidents of motorcycles skidding were reported from various parts of the City.
According to meteorologists, a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and is likely to persist during next 24 hours.
The Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain in the city during the next 24 hours.
Scattered rain and thunderstorm is likely in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Bannu, Kohat divisions, upper Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
