December 25: Musharraf escapes another attempt when two suicide bombers tried to assassinate his, but their car bombs failed to kill the president, while 16 others died in the attack.
May 3: A car bomb in Gwadar kills three Chinese engineers and injured 10 other people.
June 10: Gunmen opened fire on a convoy carrying the then corps commander Lt Gen Ahsan Saleem Hayat, leaving 11 people dead in Karachi. The corps commander escapes unhurt.
July 30: Assassination attempt on Prime Minister-elect Shaukat Aziz in Fateh Jang. Nine people were killed.
August 2: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf escaped an assassination bid when unidentified persons fired at his convoy killing one of his bodyguards.
September 22: Six people, including a woman, killed and 27 injured in two blasts in Lahore.
November 8: A suicide bomber killed 42 soldiers and injured 20 in the north-western town of Dargai.
September 4: At least 25 people killed and 66 injured in two suicide bomb blasts in Rawalpindi cantonment’s high security areas during morning rush hour.
October 18: Attack on Benazir Bhutto’s rally killed over 139 in Karachi and left more than 450 injured in one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
December 27: Two-time prime minister Benazir Bhutto assassinated in a shooting and suicide bombing in Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh, killing up to 20 others and injuring many.
January 10: Around 24 people killed and 73 injured in a suicide attack when the policemen targeted outside Lahore High Court before the lawyer’s scheduled protest against the government.
February 25: Pakistan Army’s top medic Lt-Gen Mushtaq Baig killed along with the driver and security guard, when a suicide attack ripped apart the vehicle he was travelling near GHQ in Rawalpindi. At least five passers-by were also killed.
March 4: Eight persons killed and 24 others injured when two suicide bombers blew themselves up in the parking area of the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore.
March 11: At least 24 people killed and more than 200 wounded in twin suicide bombings in Lahore.
August 12: A bomb targeted a PAF bus carrying personnel from a military base, killing 13 people and wounded 11 others in Peshawar.
August 19: Some 32 people, seven policemen and two health officials among them, killed and 55 others injured in a suicide bombing at DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan.
August 21: At least 70 people killed and 67 others injured when two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the gates of the POF Wah.
September 20: A truck bomb exploded outside the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, killing 54 people and wounding 266.
October 2: A suicide bomber targeted the house of ANP leader Asfandyar Wali Khan in Wali Bagh, Charsadda, killing four people. Asfand survives the attack.
February 11: ANP provincial lawmaker Alam Zeb Khan killed in a remote-controlled blast.
March 30: Eight police recruits and a civilian killed when Around 10 terrorists attacked the Manawan Police Training School in Lahore.
May 27: Suicide bombers detonated a vehicle loaded with explosives near the offices of the CCPO and the ISI in Lahore, killing at least 27 people and wounding 326.
June 9: A massive truck bomb ripped through the Pearl Continental Hotel in Peshawar. 11 people killed and more than 60 injured.
September 26: Two suicide attackers separately rammed their explosives-laden vehicles into a police station in Bannu and a military-owned commercial bank in Peshawar, killing at least 23 people and injuring around another 200.
October 9: A suicide attack at Khyber Bazaar in Peshawar killed 55 people and injured more than 148. October 10-11: 22 people, including soldiers and eight gunmen, killed in an attack on GHQ in Rawalpindi.
October 25: 19 people, including 14 security officials, killed and 41 others sustained injuries in three separate terror attacks in Lahore. All nine attackers were also shot dead by security personnel.
October 16: 15 people, including three policemen and a minor, killed and 21 wounded in a suicide attack on the offices of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of police in Peshawar.
