Quake of 5.6 magnitude jolts KPK, GB and Khyber Agency

An earthquake of strong intensity jolted different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Khyber Agency Sunday morning about 06am.

According to Geological Department of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook Nowshera, Peshawar, Malakand, Shangla, various areas of Gilgit and Baltistan, Lower Dir and Khyber tribal regions.
Fearing for their lives the residents rushed out of their houses in scare and stayed in the open for some time. Casualties and damages of any sort have not been reported thus far from the quake-hit areas.
