RAWALPINDI - Five witnesses of prosecution were cross-examined in former premier Benazir Bhutto (BB) murder trial held by Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Number 1 here at Adyala Jail on Tuesday.

ATC No 1 Judge Shahid Raffique recorded the statements of five prosecution witnesses and deferred the hearing till January 21, 2012 to record more statements of witnesses.
A prosecution witness FIA AD Forensic Nauman Ashraf Bodhla apprised the court that he could not get any substantial evidence to show that that former City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Saud Aziz and SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad remained in contact with other accused arrested in connection with BB murder case. “I had no proof to show that the two police officers phoned any of the other five accused being trialed in BB assassination case” said Nauman Ashraf Bodhla responding a query.
On request of anonymity, a lawyer told Malik Rafique Ahmed advocate, representing the two police officers, asked the prosecution witness whether he had any record or mobile data to establish any link of the accused police officers with the other men said to be members of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The FIA official replied in negative.
