ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Tuesday postponed the decision to challenge the controversial 45MW Nimoo-Bazgo hydropower project on the Indus River by India. India has completed the construction of Nimoo-Bazgo power project on the Indus River. Earlier, former prime minister Yusaf Raza Gilani gave approval to challenge the project in the International Court of Arbitration (ICA).

An earlier inquiry into the case, conducted by secretary of WAPDA blamed Pakistan's former Indus Water Commissioner Jamaat Ali Shah for causing delay in dealing with the construction of the Nimoo-Bazgo project. Some other bureaucrats are also suspected of assisting Indian authorities in the matter. Both Pakistan and India have met in similar circumstances at the international forum twice before, once over the construction of Baglihar Dam in Indian-held Kashmir and the second time over the construction of Kishanganga Dam on Neelum River at Gurez, also in Occupied Kashmir.
