RAHIM YAR KHAN - Arts Council will be established in Rahim Yar Khan to encourage the cultural artists, poets and writers, pledged Riaz Bhatti, the resident director of the Bahawalpur Arts Council.
He was talking to the media. The resident director also held a meeting with the DCO to eliminate vulgarity and objectionable content of drama in theaters. The DCO assured him that the administration was monitoring all drama theaters in the district minutely. Later, the director met with poets of different literary organisations including Jabbar Wasif, Nasir Mehmood Lala, Khalid Zaki and Muzammil Saadi and discussed various issues. These literary figures said that Rahim Yar Khan is the city of 700,000 people and there was no site to hold cultural activities. They demanded an arts council building at vacant state land adjacent to Allam Iqbal Library. Riaz promised them that he will try his best in this regard.
