He was presiding over a meeting here on Sunday which reviewed the development programme in Punjab.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif briefed the meeting about development programmes and important projects. He said record allocations had been made for education, health and communication sectors. He said development projects would be implemented on fast-track basis.
The meeting was attended by Senator Ishaq Dar, Senator Parvez Rashid, MNAs Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Captain (r) Mohammad Safdar and Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Nawaz Sharif directed that backward areas should be given priority in the development programme in order to bring them at par with developed areas and the fruits of development could be filtered to the poor.
He said the loadshedding crisis has taken a dangerous situation and it has become impossible for the people to perform their daily affairs in scorching heat. He said by taking part in the protests against loadshedding, Shahbaz has conveyed the strong resentment of the people.
