PPP sacrifices brought back democracy, Sharifs

KHAIRPUR/HASILPUR - PPP District Information Secretary Muhammad Saleem Bhatti stated that it was the unmatched sacrifices rendered by the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party that had made possible the restoration of democracy, judiciary and return of Sharif brothers.

Talking to media persons here in District courts, he said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had taken a bold decision to return to the country in October 2007. The decision had also encouraged the Sharif brothers to return from exile. He claimed that the PPP-led government had empowered provinces by implementing the consensus National Finance Commission Award for the first time in the country’s history. Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has also given numerous sacrifices for the restoration of democracy,” Saleem Bhatti pointed out, adding that PM Gilani had endured five years imprisonment and faced many hardships. PM Gilani participated in the movement of restoration of judiciary along with the workers of the party and civil society, everyone should play due role for development of the country. He added the present government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had been taking innovative steps for economic progress of the country. The democratic government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has created a unique culture of tolerance on the political landscape of Pakistan, which is the very essence of democracy. Now Pakistan is a functioning democracy where parliament is sovereign, judiciary is independent and media is playing an active and vibrant role for the nourishment of democracy, PPP always respected the judiciary and all other national institutions of the country as the PPP had rendered great sacrifices for restoration of judiciary.
