SIALKOT -Nadeem Maseeh, 24, of Pasrur city drowned in Bambaanwala-Ravi-Badiana canal while bathing. On Saturday, two youths Muhammad Anees, 19 and Muhammad Suhail, 20, residents of Muzaffarpur locality, drowned in Upper Chenab Canal near Head Marala.

When contacted, the DCO said that people throng the banks of the rivers and canals especially Head Marala for picnicking there, which resulted in rush of people. He said that he personally visited the spots where the said three youths have drowned in UCC Canal and BRB Canal.
The DCO added that strict directions have been issued to the police to ensure immediate implementation of ban on bathing in rivers and canals.
