MULTAN - Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the judiciary expelled one Gilani but 180 million masses elected two Gilanis to the parliament.
He declared that PPPP would sweep next elections, adding that his party never came into power from backdoor rather masses brought it into power through their vote and support. Referring to Seraiki province, he said that he raised voice for this province for getting the deprived their due rights. He said that the government had formed a commission for creation of new provinces but some elements created hurdles in its way. “Those creating hurdles will be swept away by masses,” he claimed.
Earlier, Gilani visited the house of a martyr of Kamra attack Muhammad Asif Ramzan in Chak 8/ MR, a suburb of Multan, and congratulated his family for being the heirs of a martyr and national hero. He said that the sacrifices rendered by the jawans and officers of armed forces proved that no one could defeat us. He said that the government was determined to get the country rid of terrorism.
CANCER WARD GETS FUNDS: The government has allocated another Rs300 million for 100-bed cancer ward project and the construction of the ward would start after Eidul Fitar. Health sources disclosed that the Punjab government has approved an amended PC-1 of the project under which a six-storey building will be established and the total cost of the project will stand at Rs920 million. The proposed cancer ward is being constructed at an empty space between MINAR Cancer Hospital and Gynea Ward. Health sources revealed that the project includes facilities like ICU, state-of-the-art lab, isolation rooms, chemotherapy machines and latest equipment.
