He demanded of the government to forthwith end the ongoing security forces military operation in tribal areas, and conduct an impartial probe into the killing of 18 tribesmen through a judicial commission, while addressing a news conference here at press club on Friday. The tribal elders led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Nawabzada Fazal Karim Afridi said that tribal people have been facing with immense difficult situation for the last one decade, as a so-called war against terrorism has been imposed upon them. “Tribal people are undoubtedly patriotic citizens of this State, who have been playing an important role in safeguarding the boundaries of the state without any incentives since the independence,” he added.
Afridi, who was also honorary Consul General to Pakistan in Japan, expressed grave concern over the brutal killing and genocide of the tribal people for the last several years, and asked the incumbent rulers to immediately stop it.
Flanked by tribal elders Zahir Afridi, Akbar Afridi, and Shakil Afridi, he held the incumbent rulers responsible for the killing of innocent tribal people with the hands of foreign mentors.
“It was totally unjust and unfair with patriotic and honest tribesmen. Fata was deliberately remained backward in all fields of life, wherein the basic human rights were completed violated. People don’t have access to basic facilities of education and health, and other needs of life,” he maintained.
Afridi also alleged that the foreign funds meant for the provision of basic facilities to the tribesmen and development of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) were embezzled.
He urged the donor agencies to stop their financial assistance in the name of FATA as their funds were not being reached to the deserving people in tribal region. He added that it must be ensured that the funds allocated for Fata should be utilized for the development of tribal areas. He asked the donor agencies should hold an inquiry and accountability of their funds. He also condemned the law enforcement agencies operation against the peaceful protesters taking part in the sit-in against the killing of 18 innocent tribal people in Bara, here outside Governor’s House. He added that the humiliation of the sanctity of dead bodies and buried that without offering their funeral prayer.
Though Governor KPK maybe a good lawyer, but is not able to perform on this key position, and asked him to immediately step down.
He demanded establishment of an independent judicial commission to probe the brutal killing of innocent tribesmen belonging to tehsil Bara, and arrest the killers forthwith.
