Siraj seeks PTI, PML-N support to minimise US influence

July 19, 2012

PESHAWAR – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Naib Ameer Sirajul Haq said Wednesday that the government decision to restore Nato supplies was unwise, as it would further spread terrorism in the country and the government would be unable to control it.
“If the government did not take all the political parties into confidence about the interim setup, the dream of holding free, fair and transparent elections could never be materialised,” Siraj warned while expressing his views in a ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised by Peshawar Press Club. He warned of using all ways, except violence, to stop Nato supplies. He urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to support the JI struggle to take the country out of the US influence.
Flanked by JI, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, Secretary Information Israrullah and Muhammad Iqbal, he said that in the existing crisis-like situation in the country, the masses were worried about their future.
He observed that the PPP and its allies washed away all the hopes the masses attached to them, as the rulers turned deaf ears to the miseries of people. He maintained that the US dollars reached upto Rs 96, while the currency of the decades long war-hit Afghanistan also become superior to that of Pakistan.
All the nations the world over were getting economic stability and prosperity, while the economy of Pakistan is declining with each passing day, he said.
“Both the ANP and PPP pledged with the masses that they would establish sustainable peace, but the situation at present reached a level that even the prime minister and president of the country could not travel by road. The ministers, he alleged, were fighting with one another to get bulletproof cars.
The JI leader said that due to the worsening law and order situation and excessive loadshedding almost every industry of the country collapsed, adding that more than 1500 industrial units across the country and about 450 units only in the electricity producing province had shut during the last four-and-a-half years.
He said every person was a patient of hyper tense now, as rampant corruption under the supervision of the incumbent rulers damaged all the institutions of the country.
Former provincial senior minister Siraj alleged that situation in Balochistan was being deteriorated for accomplishment of the US agenda, adding that the imperialist forces wanted to disintegrate the country and separate Balochistan for their easy way to Central Asian republics. The rulers should remember that the arms that are being supplied to Afghanistan via Pakistani routes would finally be used against Pakistan, he claimed.
In reply to a query, he said that problems could be resolved if establishment of independent Election Commission, interim government with consensus and arrangement of transparent voter lists could assure, adding masses have fed-up with the old faces.
About the ANP government statement, he said that our police force is for the protection of the masses, not to provide security to Nato supply.
Siraj also said that the governments all over the world gives subsidies to their masses on Christmas, therefore the government should give real subsidy on commodities items to masses as Ramadan is coming near.
