OKARA - Former Punjab Labour and Manpower minister and PPP District Okara President Ashraf Khan Sohna has claimed that the publicity gimmicks being played by the Sharif Brothers are far even denting democracy. The PPP government with the support of the masses will never let such conspiracies succeeded. Their long march towards President’s House in Islamabad and ‘foul language’ are simply negation of democratic values. If the PML-N does not come out of the delusion and shun hooliganism and abusive language, the PPP reserves the right to mount a ‘million march’ on Punjab Chief Minister’s House. Ashraf Sohna expressed the views while addressing a press conference here at Bhutto House, the other day.He claimed that the PPP would not only make a clean sweep in the upcoming general elections but would form government in Punjab as well. He pointed out that the PPP believed in social service and a large number of development projects worth billions of rupees underway in the district reflected the part priorities. Mr Sohna informed that Benazir Avenue was being converted into a dual carriageway which would solve traffic problems and the masses would have better travelling facility. The PPP stalwart explained that tough tiling of bazaars and streets in Okara City tough had been completed and work on water disposal was nearing completion. The PPP is the party of the poor and it has always been struggled for their rights,” Mr Sohna claimed and added that if the people reposed their trust and confidence in the party and get it re-elected it would make Okara one of the developed city of the country.Three injures in road accident: Three people were injured when a bus collided with a car on GT Road here the other day. As per detail, Suleman Ahmad Gilani, his mother Tahira Sarwat, and sister Nida Ahmad Gillani, residents of Tariq-Ben-Zead Colony Sahiwal, were on the way back from Lahore in a car when a bus collided with their car near 14/1AL. As a result, they were injured and shifted to nearby hospital. The police have registered a case against the bus driver. House looted: Six bandits looted a house in Basti Abdullah Depalpur here the other day. Reportedly, six dacoits barged into the house of Naseer Ahmad alias Puppo. They took the whole family hostage and locked them up in a room. They looted Rs63,000, gold ornaments and cellphones from the house. The police have registered a case.
