Missing people list not surging, UN told

ISLAMABAD  - The United Nation Working Group, analysing the missing persons issue, was informed on Tuesday that list of missing persons is not increasing and no institution is claiming responsibility of the issue.A two-member delegation of the UN Working Group called on Chairman of Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Human Rights Riaz Fatiyana and discussed various affairs regarding the missing person’s issue. The delegation lauded the performance of the committee regarding and expressed satisfaction over the debate during meeting. The delegation was told that prior lists of missing persons are present and it is not increasing now.Fatiyana said he informed the UN group that missing persons issue was of more concern in KP and Balochistan provinces because most of the missing persons from these provinces involved in militancy.
