15 killed, 18 injured in road accident near Ormara

QUET TA - At least 15 people including a woman were killed and 18 others sustained serious injuries in a road incident on Makran Coastal Highway, some 55 km away from Ormara town of Balochistan in the wee hours of Sunday. Levies officials said that the passenger bus was heading towards Mand from Karachi when it turned turtle at Sarbat area on Coastal Highway after driver lost control of bus due to overspeeding. As a result, 15 people including five Uzbek nationals and a woman were killed and 18 other received serious injuries. Tehsildar Ormara Anwar Ali and Levies official Bashir Ahmed Baloch rushed to the site and shifted deceased and injured to the hospital. The seriously injured were later shifted to Karachi for further treatment and condition of several injured was stated to be serious. Five bodies of Uzbeks including a woman were handed over to Edhi officials which were later shifted to Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth. The brother-in-law of MPA and former Federal Education Minister Zubaida Jalal, was also amongst the deceased. Levies has registered a case and started further investigations into the incident.
