Impartial inquiry into Chechens killing demanded

QUET TA - The residents of Killi Khezai, where five Chechens, three of them women were killed by firing of police and Frontier Corps, have demanded for an impartial inquiry into the incident. They said that the Chechens were unarmed, accusing police and FC personnel of killing them, adding, that the incident was aimed at to creating justification for carrying out drone attacks in Balochistan.They expressed these views while addressing a demo in front of Quetta Press Club to protest the killing of Chechens. Protesters were carrying placards and chanting slogans against police and law-enforcement agencies. Addressing the protesters, residents of Killi Khezai, including Haji Fateh Khan and Maulvi Abdul Wahid condemned the killing of Chechens and termed it a big tragedy. They alleged that police and law-enforcement agencies were staging a drama by describing innocent Chechens as suicide bombers. They said that the Chechens offered prayers in Killi Khezai mosque and were asking local people to guide them to an address when all of a sudden they found themselves surrounded by police and Frontier Corps personnel. They said that they moved to the nearby FC post to surrender but police and FC personnel opened indiscriminate firing on them. They said that the Chechens raised their hands as a gesture of surrender but law-enforcement personnel opened firing. They said that the Chechens were not armed and did not hurl any grenade on security forces. They demanded of the government for carrying out an impartial inquiry against accused police officials and FC personnel and they should be awarded punishment.
