Election Commission bound to comply with SC verdict: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakharuddin G Ibrahim said Thursday Election Commission (EC) was bound to comply with Supreme Court (SC) verdict in dual nationality case.

Talking to private TV Channel he said “ we are waiting for detailed judgement of Supreme Court. Final decision will be taken when detailed verdict is received.
ECP is bound to comply with apex court judgement, he said adding details have been sought from some parliamentarians and some have provided them to us. Those who would not provide details with regard to dual nationality would be disqualified, he held. Law makers having dual citizenship will be disqualified and no leniency will be shown to any one on this count , he added.
