February 21, 2013

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court has been moved Wednesday against Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi for not working in accordance with the Article 234 of the Constitution.  A petitioner, Shahid Orakzai, filed an application in the Supreme Court, stating the incumbent Balochistan Governor failed to respond as per the very article of the Constitution by which Governor’s Rule was imposed in the province. The petition pointed out that the Governor, after assuming administrative powers of the dissolved cabinet, neither made any proclamation about the transfer of powers nor took any incidental and consequential step.
