Musharraf says army’s role important for sustainable democracy

Former President Rtd General Pervez Musharraf has said that Pakistan army’s role is important for sustainable democracy.

In an interview with BBC, former President said that with elections not far away, there is demand for the formation of a caretaker setup in the country and the army should ensure that it was in place to the satisfaction all stake holders.
Replying to a question, he asserted that he would definitely return to Pakistan to help his party in the election and advance his political career.
Musharraf said elections are likely to be held in Pakistan in May and he needed two and a half to three months to campaign for his party, though he has not fixed a date for the return.
The former President once again reiterated that he would definitely return to Pakistan though false cases have been fabricated against him.  He was however said there is no case against him legally and constitutionally.
