NOWSHERA VIRKAN - Free, fair and transparent elections are a cornerstone of all forms of democracy.Elections are practically the only means whereby citizens/voters can participate and hold the political parties, candidates and the incumbent governments accountable for their promises and performance. This was stated by Jamaat-e-Islami candidate for NA-100 Sardar Riaz Ahmed while talking to media here the other day. He said that the JI was struggling to establish a true Islamic and welfare state.  He said that both the federal and provincial governments had given nothing to masses but inflation, poverty, unemployment, terrorism and loadshedding which were creating unrest amongst the people. He said that the PPP and PML-N were two sides of same coin. They were making polices on directions received from the US. Sardar Riaz urged the masses to reject the dishonest, selfish and corrupt politicians in the upcoming general elections and give a chance to those who were committed to run the state as per-Islamic ideology. He said that anti-Muslim powers had united and were making conspiracies to harm Muslims, adding that it was need of the hour that all Muslim Ummah should also be united to foil their desires.
