UNITED NATIONS - Pakistan has sought United Nations help in its efforts to deal with the floods in the country that have affected nearly 4.5 million people, causing 370 deaths, A UN spokesman said on Thursday.Spokesman Martin Nesirky told the regular noon briefing that the government of Pakistan, which was in touch with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), had identified food, emergency shelter, drinking water and health services as the “priority needs”.The World Food Programme (WFP), he said, was set to distribute food to 10,000 households in Balochistan and 10,000 households in Sindh. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also provided essential medicines to nearly 300,000 people, he added.
