MULTAN - The Local transporters staged a demonstration against a city transport company, traffic wardens and secretary of regional transport authority (RTA) here at Nawan Shehr Chowk on Saturday, alleging that they were being barred from operating on Salar Wahan route despite holding route permits.
The protesters blocked Nawan Shehr Chowk and shouted slogans against the IB Transport Company. A severe traffic jam took place around Nawan Shehr Chowk because of the transporters protest.
Talking to journalists, the owners of local busses alleged that the IB company illegally occupied Salar Wahan route with the connivance of secretary RTA and traffic wardens. They said that financial murder of local transporters was being committed by barring them from operating on Bosan Road. They demanded of the Chief Minister to take notice of their grievances and complaints otherwise they would shut down Bosan Road.
