Italy awards honorary citizenship to Malala Yousafzai

LAHORE  - Italy honored Malala Yousafzai, the girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban in the terror-struck valley Swat back in 2012, with the honorary citizenship, say media reports. The Italian government decided to honor her in a special meeting of Metropolitan. According to the Metropolitan, the honorary citizenship was given to Malala for her services of spreading education passion among the women. Earlier, the city government of Rome had conferred a peace and humanitarian action award for Malala Yousafzai. Last month, Malala was also honoured with honorary citizenship of Rome (Sittadino Romano) and the Ambassador of Pakistan to Italy Tehmina Janjua received the document on her behalf.
