MULTAN - The members of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) Cardiology Institute Unit staged a protest demonstration against price hike and denial of raise in their salaries here outside hospital gate on Monday. The clerks assembled at the gate and carried out non-stop sloganeering against government. The protesters blocked Abdali Road as a result of which traffic jam took place on both sides of the road.
Talking to the journalists, they said that concurrent increase in prices crushed worker class. They said that the government workers were faced with serious financial crisis. “We’re unable to make both the ends together. Our children are starved but the government does nothing to control price hike,” they lamented. They demanded of the government to increase their salaries in proportion with price hike otherwise they would be forced to launch a protest drive. They warned that they would lock up all government offices if their demands were not met.
