Militants fire rockets on FC checkpost

QUET TA Some seven persons were killed and three others suffered injuries in different incidents in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Wednesday. In the first incident, five persons were riding two motorcycles in Gondeen of Dasht area of Mastung district, some 45 KM south of Quetta, when some armed persons in a vehicle opened indiscriminate fire on them and fled away. As a result, three persons were killed on the spot and two others got injured. The injured were shifted to Quetta for medical treatment. Police registered a case and declared that the triple murder was a case of tribal feud. In another incident, some armed men attempted to kidnap a local farmer in Mangochar of Kalat district, some 130 KM south of Quetta, but he gunned him down upon resistance. Later, exchange of fire erupted between the local residents and the gang of kidnappers wherein an abductor got arrested after being injured. A constable of Balochistan Constabulary, Mazhar Hussain, was killed by unknown persons in Jogezai Street on Jaffar Khan Jamali Road who snatched his service rifle as well before escaping from the scene. Police registered a case against unknown the killers. A young girl was killed in cross firing in a family feud between the two armed groups of Achakzai tribe in Quetta. A young daughter of former deputy speaker and ex-nazim Zarghoon Town Abdul Qahar Wadan, who also happens to be a central leader of Pashtoonkhwa Mili Awami Party, received bullet injuries in the cross firing between the two groups of his family members. Later, she was shifted to a hospital where she succumbed to injuries. A dozen of armed persons barged into the hospital and some of them wanted the doctors to conduct the autopsy while others resisted it. Both the groups engaged in fist fighting and damaged each others vehicles. However, no one opened fire in the hospital. The dead body was shifted to the deceaseds home without conducting the postmortem. Meanwhile, a 16 year old student fell in a well of her school due to the negligence of education department in Khuzdar Town, some 320 KM south of Quetta. As per reports teaching here, the girls were playing during the break time when one of them, Hajra Bibi, slipped into the open well and drowned. She was taken out by the police and was shifted to a local hospital where doctors declared her dead. The body was handed over to the family. Meanwhile, militants fired three rockets targeting a check post of Frontier Corps (FC) in Margat, some 40 KM away from Quetta. The rockets landed near a check post and exploded with a big bang. However, no loss of life and damage to property was reported.
