Hesco forms teams for recovery of Rs 42b dues

HYDERABAD  - On the directives of Federal Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company management has initiated a campaign for recovery of outstanding dues over Rs42 billion in its three operation circles, which are functioning in 12 districts of Sindh.In order to recover maximum outstanding dues of Hesco, Chief Executive Officer Muzaffar Ali Abbasi has formed eight more special teams, which along with other recovery teams are conducting raids at the defaulters’ sites for recovery of outstanding dues, the spokesman informed here on Friday. He said that the special recovery teams have so far recovered outstanding dues of Rs86.738 millions from the defaulters in 12 districts with disconnection of electricity and seizure of electric wires of 9,482 defaulters. Meanwhile, the Sindh University administration has announced that President Asif Ali Zardari will lay foundation stone of SU’s Dadu campus on October 17.  According to the university spokesman, the VC had invited President Zardari who has accepted the invitation. Similarly, he would also inaugurate Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Research Chair and Convention Centre on October 19 being established at SU, providing an opportunity to the scholars who wanted to initiate research work on late Benazir Bhutto’s life and struggle for democracy.
