NOORPUR THAL - Society for the Advancement of Community, Health, Education and Training, (SACHET) is a multi-dimensional, forward looking, gender sensitive and environmental friendly welfare-cum-development oriented organisation, working since 1999 with a vision of “promoting human development of the disadvantaged in gender perspectives”.
These views were expressed by SACHET Campaign Manager Shoaib Ahmed, while addressing a seminar on the topic “addressing gender based violence and promoting women rights”. “It is implementing under the Gender Equity Programme (GEP) of the Aurat Foundation, with the support of American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)”, he said.
He said that the SACHET seeks to provide social development, primarily in low-income localities, by investing in health, education, poverty alleviation, income generation skills, human resource and rural development. Grantees and beneficiaries are selected without regard to race, religion and political persuasion. EDO Education Qazi Zahoor Hussain was chief guest of the ceremony. DO Social Welfare Muhammad Jafir Bhutta, DDEO (Women) Shahnaz Anwar, advocate Arshad Mehmood and other renowned personalities also participated in the event.
