KHANEWAL - The district police claimed the arrest of an accused who had fled to  Karachi after throwing acid on a woman.

DPO Muhammad Waqar Abbasi disclosed this while addressing a press conference here the other day.
He said that the acid throwing on Sakeena Bibi, a resident of Colony No-3 had happened on July 6,2011.
FIR no 400/11 was registered in police station Khanewal, against Muzamil Hussain, son of Ibraheem a resident of Korangi No-01/2 Zia Colony Karachi under section 7-ATA and 324.
Motive behind the accident was that Muzamil interested to marry with Sakeena Bibi but her parents were not agreed.
He committed the crime to take the revenge and splashed acid on Sakeena Bibi.
The culprit was succeeded to flee away from the scene and he was also declared absconder by the court.
The DPO said that a team headed by DSP Javid Khan, SI, Malik shafique, ASI Naveed Aalam was assigned a task to arrest the accused.
The police had succeeded to arrest the absconder from Karachi, he added.
