Iftikhar for cultural activities to improve Pak-Afghan ties

PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that Pakhtuns as a nation are like one entity and they could not be separated by any administrative action, as they have the same pattern of thinking.
He said no one could either eliminate or divide the Pakhtuns and all conspiracies to this effect would be foiled. He expressed these views while speaking at a function hosted in honour of Afghan iournalists in Islamabad the other day. Journalists from Germany and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also participated in the function.
Welcoming the Afghan journalists, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that cultural and journalistic activities would help support good relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan and for this purpose, delegations of both the countries would make visits of each other’s country. He said he greatly admired Afghan brethrens.
He also thanked the German journalists who gathered there along with both the Afghan and Pakistani journalists. Speaking about the situation in Afghanistan, Mian Iftikhar said that Afghanistan was the mainstay of Pakhtuns and the ongoing bloodshed would be stopped at all costs. He said that all the forces have agreed in principle that terrorists, be they in Waziristan or elsewhere, would be eliminated. He said that effective action or meaningful negotiations could only lead to peace, however the latter option would be applied in the first place. 

He said that they all wanted an end to the ongoing terrorism, which would be eliminated at any cost.
