Muhammad Tariq, 23, died in the afternoon in police custody due to the negligence of the police and Rescue 1122 as the injured dacoit was not taken to hospital for necessary treatment. While the MCB Ghala Mandi Branch security guard who also injured in the incident was sent to BVH, Bahawalpur for medical treatment from the spot through Rescue 1122 Ambulance.
It all happened during a dacoity bid at MCB Ghala Mandi Branch at around 12:30 when three armed bandits entered the bank.
