BAHAWALPUR - MPhil and PhD scholars from different universities appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to consider their nominations for the laptops scheme as well. They reminded the Punjab CM that he (CM) had promised to provide laptops to scholars upon completion of PhD and MPhil. Several MPhil and PhD students have expressed concern that the CM despite his promise, did not consider them for the provision of laptops although registration of scholars had already been done upon completion of their respective disciplines. The scholars claimed that they had received a cellphone message from Mian Shahbaz Sharif that they would be provided with laptops but so far nothing could be done.They said that earlier the government announced not to give laptops to the government employees and now the same treatment was being meted out to the private employees as well. They argued that the government should encourage government employees because they were living their life with limited income which would benefit them to a great extent.They demanded the Punjab CM to fulfil his promise regarding provision of laptops to the scholars.
