AHMEDPUR EAST - The law enforcement agencies conducted a joint raid for the arrest of an operative of a banned outfit here in Basti Tarkhana of Mauza Ali Kharak in Tehsil Ahmedpur East, the other night. The LEAs personnel recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition while {reportedly} arrested the Jaish-e-Muhammad activist. However, the LEAs high-ups did not confirm the arrest.

It has been learnt that Shabbi Churra, said to be an operative of banned Jaish-e-Muhammad, a resident of Basti Tarkhana disappeared two weeks ago.
According to reports, acting on tip-off, the LEAs personnel carried out a joint raid on the hideout of Shabbi Churra. During search, the LEAs personnel dug the room and unearthed huge cache of weapons hide underground. Reportedly, the operation continued for about four hours in mid night.
Meanwhile, the sudden presence of a large number of LEAs personnel frightened the villagers who left their houses. An eye-witness told this scribe that he had not seen Shabbi Churra during the operation as the entire area was cordoned off.
Meanwhile, the police high-ups appeared reluctant to share details of the operation and recovery of heavy arms cache. They neither denied the arrest of Shabbi Churra nor confirmed the reports.
