PESHAWAR – Tribal Areas Electricity Supply Company, (Tesco) has asked 13 government departments in Fata to clear their dues amounting to Rs 816.354 million by June 31, 2012.
Tesco had Rs 760.465 million arrears against 13 major government departments in Fata and KPK by April 2012. Out of total arrears, Rs 32.706 million are pending against Cadet College Razmak, Rs 45.456 million against Fata DC, Rs 35.323 million against Garrison Engineers Army, Rs 43.726 million against Militia Scouts, Rs 46.770 million against Frontier Corps and Rs 51.910 million against Political Agents in Fata.
Similarly Rs 34.519 million arrears are outstanding against Education, Rs 35.323 million against Health, Rs 100.656 million against Work & Services, 172.428 million against Water Management, Rs 12.619 million against Frontier Constabulary, Rs 88.536 million against irrigation & Power and Rs 11.224 against Agriculture Engineering of KPK.
Tesco has issued notices to these departments for clearance of their dues in time because the financial position of company is fragile and it could not bear additional burden of arrears.
The company would have no other option except to resort to disconnection of these departments if they failed to deposit their dues by the deadline.
The Chief Executive Officer Tesco Engr Pervez Khankhel Swati has directed field formations to expedite recovery from Government departments and ensure complete recovery from the defaulting Government connections by 30th June.
