ISLAMABAD - Election Commission Secretary Ishtiak Ahmed Khan visited the military General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Friday reportedly to hand over a tentative list of sensitive polling stations across the country.
The ECP would hand over the final list of sensitive polling stations to the military authorities after getting those marked through the district election security committees (DESC) to be set up in the coming days, sources said.
Earlier this month, the secretary ECP had visited the GHQ to discuss with military authorities the security measures for general polls.
The military leadership, then, had expressed inability to guard all the polling stations across the country while reportedly contending that the provision of security from military was possible only at the sensitive polling stations.
