RENALA KHURD - The main objective of celebrating mother and child health week is to protect both from various diseases through awareness them about hygienic principles and creation of a a healthy environment.

These views were expressed by DCO Saif Anjum Rana while addressing the participant of a seminar held to celebrate ‘Mother And Child Health Week’ here the other day.
He said that the Mother and Child Health Week campaign started in the district with the aim to minimise the mortality rate among pregnant women and infants. “The campaign will continue till May 26 and all officials of the Health Department and Lady Health Workers (LHWs) will fully participate in the drive”, said DCO.
He also directed the EDO Health to give de-worming medicines to children of the age group of 2 to 5 years and folic acid tablets to pregnant women to protect them against anemia, He also expressed confidence that Lady Health Workers (LHV) and officials of the health department would celebrate the Mother & Child Health Week with a sense of responsibility and service to humanity.
DO-Health Dr M Asraf Javed, Dr M Ather, MS Dr M Aslam, and MNCH Programme Coordinator Afzal Kamayna also were also present on the occasion.
